70% of the world’s cocoa comes from West Africa, where workers earn as little as $0.25-$0.50 a day. In addition to this, more than 2 million children in the Ivory Coast and Ghana harvest cocoa. Help fight child labor by purchasing fair trade chocolate products.
Luckily, many companies are becoming aware of this issue and are incorporating fair trade ingredients into their products—including ice cream.
