It can be impossible to reach your loved ones when disaster strikes or a crisis breaks out. You lose electricity, cell towers go down and your phone won't work, 911 systems are jammed - these are all too common during emergencies. Make sure you have a plan to stay connected with your family.
Fill out an Emergency Contact card form, print it out, and place it in a child's backpack, lunchbox or wallet, so they know who to call and how.
End Slavery Now recommends an emergency contact card for teenagers and college students, too. In the event that something goes horribly wrong, they'll have contact information with them to reach authorities. Include the human trafficking hotline number, too.
