Human trafficking exists in every community and happens every day.

As the issue of human trafficking enters the public consciousness, members of the media and those of us working to end modern day slavery have a responsibility to use our platforms to shift the narrative. Through increased awareness of human trafficking we can affect how people think, feel, and react to this issue and therefore help to bring an end to the victimization of millions of individuals throughout the world.

IJPC, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting for social justice, has released two new resources for the community:

A media toolkit intended for journalists and reporters. It includes best practices for reporting on human trafficking as well as a list of potential experts willing to be used as sources.
A public toolkit. It is an accessible guide to what human trafficking is and how you can act to end trafficking. There is also other helpful information, such as debunking common myths about trafficking.
