In October of 2016 the U.S. State Department released the first-ever report written by human trafficking survivors. The document features 11 survivors of sex and labor trafficking. A sex trafficking survivor told the news organization The Huffington Post that, “For the first time in the history, we [survivors] will be able to help.”
This is significant because it allowed survivors to give their voice to help combat human trafficking in the United States.
