Forced Labor is Legal in the United States
The 13th amendment to the US Constitution outlawed enslavement "except as punishment for a crime." This loophole has allowed public and private prisons to exploit inmates for labor. The documentary 13th provides a good overview of this issue.
While End Slavery Now is not arguing against prison labor in and of itself we, along with Freedom United, are arguing that forced labor in any form is not good. Click the button above to take action against forced prison labor.
